Although many people dream of becoming a television actor, only a few individuals will be good enough to make a living from it. However, if you have a genuine talent for acting, there’s no reason why you can’t be successful too. Of course, everyone’s got to start somewhere, but where exactly is that?As with most other professions, you need to start at the bottom of the acting ladder and work your way up. This normally equates to doing plenty of work as an extra as not only does it get you a paycheque at the end of the month, it also gets your face ‘out and about’. Once your name is more well-known amongst those in the industry, you may well get the opportunity to try out for bigger and better things. Once you are confident and have a little bit of experience, you can start thinking about auditions. This is perhaps the most difficult part of the industry as finding the exact right TV auditions is normally a far from easy task. Thankfully, we here at AuditionNow can be of great assistance in this respect. For just £1.50 per text with a maximum of three texts per week (18 years and over only) we can provide you with access to all the best TV casting calls out there, thereby ensuring you will never miss out on what could potentially be your big break. So, if you’ve got the talent; contact us now and get your acting career started today!

Although becoming a TV actor is far from easy, it is by no means impossible. Indeed, if you’ve got something to offer and are willing to work hard, there is no reason why you cannot pursue an acting career.

Foot in the door

The easiest way of getting your foot in the acting door is to become an extra as this will make your face familiar to casting directors. Some of the most famous actors started as extras, so you shouldn’t see it as being demeaning in any way.

Reality

Working as an extra doesn’t make great demands on your talent as you don’t have lots of (if any) lines to learn. However, being an extra can be draining as although scenes are frequently reshot many times, the time in between can be very long so there is plenty of waiting around to contend with.

A little help

Like any other acting job, you will need to attend casting calls to find work as an extra. However, finding out exactly where and when extras casting calls are going to take place is a notoriously difficult endeavour. Thankfully, this is where we here at AuditionNow can help as, for just £1.50 per text with a maximum of three texts per week (18 years and over only), our subscription service will let you know when and where they’re taking place. So, if you want to be an extra, contact us now and get yourself on the road to acting success.

Unlike auditions for acting roles for the big and small screens and stage, hopeful candidates attending casting calls for stage musicals require a combination of acting skills and great singing voices. Whilst stage musicals have been an enduring live entertainment staple for centuries and some of the greatest musicals have been in production for decades, the medium has enjoyed a recent renaissance following a spate of reality TV contests offering starring roles in some of the West End’s best loved musicals as the big prizes. Competition for the opportunity to take part has been voracious and casting calls for roles are no less eagerly awaited and sought after. For novice actors and singers hoping to attend musical auditions, they can be daunting and overwhelming experiences and even the toughest and most talented can suffer from their nerves taking over and impeding their performances. They may have superb singing voices with the broadest ranges, but that is not enough to impress casting teams at musical auditions, where hopefuls also need to demonstrate their ability to act, dance, recite from scripts and relate to their fellow performers. Actors and singers hoping to combine such talents under one single umbrella, which is an essential prerequisite for musical auditions, often seek out professional insights by attending courses designed to prepare them and hosted by musical theatre specialists. At Audition Now, our musical text alerts provide advanced information about forthcoming casting calls. We also offer tailor made courses delivered by musical experts.

Whilst ground breaking reality TV programmes have graced our small screens in various forms almost since the dawning of television, never have they been as dominant as in the past decade. The first series of Big Brother proved to be a phenomenon that made instant celebrities out of everyday members of the public and other reality TV shows since have continued the trend. They have also been career enhancing to both minor celebrities hoping to gain much needed exposure and those on the way down from previous heights.Fifteen minutes of fame are now desperately sought by thousands of applicants looking to make a name for themselves via the medium of reality TV, by which they then hope to consolidate their popularity and secure TV careers. As with acting auditions, places are heavily contended and 90% of audition tapes received by TV Executives are discarded in the first part of the selection process.Whilst the quality of audition tapes is key to reality TV applicants in order to make the all important first impression, applicants must be aware of playing by the rules in respect of running time, labelling, lighting, sound and editing. The auditions themselves are the time for applicants to really let rip and go for broke, as, by this point, TV executives have a clear picture of the types of larger than life characters they are looking for.At Audition Now, our text alert service covers reality TV auditions, and also gives you news on othe auditions and casting calls.

Having a dream and a talent to back it up is valuable when people hope to become actors or break in to the glamorous world of modelling. Attending auditions and winning work is at the opposite end of the spectrum. In between is the finding out about auditions and casting calls by which would be actors and models can test the waters, display their wares and discover whether their capabilities live up to the expectations of themselves and potential employers who might book them for jobs. When lacking in agents to represent them and seek out work on their behalf and with little or no past experience, it can be a quest in itself for potential stars of tomorrow to simply find out where the hot tickets in town are up for grabs, either in major city centres to which they might have to travel or in nearby geographical locations to where they are based. It can prove a fruitless job in itself to constantly research who is looking for actors, extras and models and how potential candidates might need to apply in order to secure attendance. Much time can be wasted in the pursuit of the dream that could be more productively spent on rehearsing, preparing and updating CVs and portfolios. At Audition Now, our expert team of researchers have specific industry experience and can lessen the long haul to success. All potential actors and models have to do is register for our text alert service, which they will receive to a maximum of three texts per week.

Many aspiring and experienced actors seek out careers on West End stages. For many, nothing beats the buzz of the city and thrill of performing in front of a live audience, the applause, the ovations and the sense that the show must go on in the face of any manner of adversity! Such is the allure of the West End for actors that many classical actors and Hollywood stars choose to experience its thrill whilst at the heights of their acting careers. As with other types of auditions, Casting Directors for West End theatre productions may be looking to cast to type dependent upon what the production is. There may be specific characteristics that need to be adhered to, which might relate to the likes of age, gender, size and even hair colour. As such, actors seeking out acting auditions in the West End should be forearmed with as much information as possible about the nature of auditions taking place, rather than simply attacking the process in a random manner driven by sheer enthusiasm, in order to avoid disappointment and much wasted effort, expense and hope.We at Audition Now provide a service well matched to the requirements of actors wanting to attend relevant West End auditions via our text alerts. We additionally provide training sessions facilitated by West End theatre experts, who have specific experience of the audition process and can offer any aspiring actor from novices to seasoned pros tips on how to stand out from the crowd.

Fashion weeks in Paris, New York, Milan and London can be the most uber glamorous places to be. Most aspiring models, whilst endeavouring to fine hone their own styles and signature walks, are inspired by iconic catwalk images of Kate, Naomi, Heidi, Claudia, Cindy, Linda, Giselle, Adrianna et al strutting their stuff on the catwalks of the world’s fashion capitals.Catwalk modelling is as hotly contested as all other types of photographic modelling jobs and it has the potential to lead to high rates of pay, world travel and, even in the cases of the aforementioned names and others like them, extraordinary celebrity and the potential for further lucrative opportunities outside of their modelling careers. However, casting teams for catwalk shows are very specific in their requirements, as they are not only looking for beauty, but luminescence, presence, style and of course, great walks. Designers and their teams are very often open to considering only certain looks, dependent upon their overall styles and natures of the collections they are showcasing on their catwalks. The fashion industry has a reputation for being brutal and critiques can be scathingly harsh. We, at Audition Now, give as much notice as possible of catwalk modelling opportunities, and can send out text alerts as soon as our team of modelling researchers have sourced the information. We also aim to be specific to ensure that models do not have the disappointment of attending opportunities unsuitable for them and thus increasing their chances of succeeding at best suited selections.
